Here's a lesser-known Long Jing vintage, but one well worth its weight in gold: Da Fo (meaning "great Buddha") is produced in Xinchang, Zhejiang, from the same cultivar as the original Long Jing. The result is delicious. Its beautiful flat green and gold leaves exude aromas of walnut oil and yellow fruits. When infused, they release an intensely aromatic and clear golden liquor: notes of toasted pine nuts, roasted asparagus, and nectarine harmoniously reveal themselves with plenty of umami and an almost sweet-salty vibrancy. A tea that's both refreshing and comforting... a true journey into the world of flavors!
