Nestled near the legendary Great Buddha of Xinchang, carved into the cliffside nearly 1,600 years ago, Long Jing Da Fo ("Big Buddha") is produced in the most natural conditions from the same cultivar as the original Long Jing. Its beautiful flat leaves, green and gold, release aromas of walnut oil and yellow fruit. When steeped, they yield a golden, intensely aromatic, and crystal-clear liquor: notes of toasted pine nuts, roasted asparagus, and nectarine emerge in remarkable harmony, carried by a vibrant, almost sweet-savory umami. Refreshing and comforting at once, this is a tea that fully earns its place among the great names of Long Jing.
